我国当前语言文字工作的三大任务：汉字规范化；推广与普及普通话；推广《汉语拼音方案》。语言文字规范化重大意义大致为：现代化经济建设与社会发展的需要；普及教育和提高教育质量的需要；国家的统一、民族的团结及社会的广泛交往；对外交往，提高汉语的国际地位。希望我们每一个人都说规范的现代汉语普通话，书写规范的现代简体汉字，为国家的语言文字规范化做身体力行的事情。我国古代战国时期最强盛的七国，有齐、楚、燕、韩、赵、魏、秦。每个国使用的文字不一样、度量衡不一样、路的宽度也不一样，十里不同风，百里不同俗。这样不利于国家的统一和民众间的交流。秦始皇后期修长城建阿房，对百姓可谓残暴，但他统一了中国，使用相同的文字、度量衡等等，他的历史功绩是不可磨灭的！

国家通用语言文字以《汉语拼音方案》为标准，通用语言文字是指普通话和规范汉字，普通话以北京语音为标准音，以北方话为基础方言，以典范的现代白话文著作为语法规范。
